Rachel Anderson Assembld Tourism Copywriter

Writing your tourism awards submission doesn’t have to be a nightmare

You're probably doing award-worthy work, but need help to shape it into an award-winning submission.

I know how daunting it feels to face that blank form — especially when you’re trying to squish a whole year of hard work into a strict word count. If the idea of writing 7,500 words (that actually answer the question) makes you want to throw your laptop at a brick wall, you’re not alone.

That’s where I come in.

Rachel Anderson Assembld copywriter

Hey, I'm Rach

I’m a copywriter, past judge and go-to submission sidekick for regional tourism operators, destinations and events. When it comes to tourism awards, I know what the judges want (and what makes their eyes glaze over).

This is for you if:

✔ You want to take the pressure off and get it done right
✔ You’re a great operator — you just need help telling the story
✔ You want to feel confident, not chaotic, when you hit ‘submit’

The track record

Every submission I've supported has reached the finalist stage or better. Here's what that looks like in results.

State-level — written by me

  • Gold — 2022, 2023

  • Silver — 2025

  • Finalist — 2024

State-level — reviewed and edited by me

  • Gold — 2024

  • Silver — 2025

  • Bronze — 2021, 2022, 2023

“I can't recommend Assembld highly enough. If you're looking for a writer for your award submission who will deliver exceptional work and exceed your expectations, look no further

Rach provided comprehensive communication throughout the entire process, ensuring that we were informed and up-to-date every step of the way. Her professionalism and attention to detail were exceptional, and they consistently went above and beyond our expectations.

Thanks to Rach’s hard work and expertise, we were able to achieve a fantastic result — an award win two years in a row! Her contribution was invaluable, and we couldn't have done it without her.”

How it works

1. Get in touch

Fill in the contact form with a bit of info about your business and which category you're considering.

2. We'll have a quick chat

I'll confirm we're a good fit, check category availability, and talk through which package makes sense. You get to ask any niggling questions

3. We get to work

Once you're booked, I'll send through your a questionnaire or we'll schedule your strategy session depending on your package.

4. You submit with confidence

You'll have a polished, criteria-aligned submission ready to go before the deadline.

When to reach out

Most clients engage 8-12 weeks before their state awards submission deadline. The earlier the better as spots are limited and fill up quickly each season.

More than just “sounding good”

A strong submission is clear, confident and hits all the right points. I bring fresh eyes, strategy and structure — so you can stop overthinking every word and trust the process.

I’ll help you:

  • Find and frame your strongest points

  • Stay within the word count without losing impact

  • Match the judging criteria exactly (hello, high scores)

  • Avoid the common traps that cost good operators big marks

(And yes, we’ll also make it easy and interesting to read.)

Psst… Here’s some of the judges’ feedback on my client’s award submissions, before and after working with me.

Comparison of a 'Before' and 'After' document review with comments about submission quality, improvement, and satisfaction.

  • Winning isn't guaranteed. Awards are competitive and judging involves factors outside our control. What I can guarantee is a submission that's clear, strategic, well-written and properly aligned to the criteria. That's what gives you the best possible chance.

  • As early as you can. Most clients engage 8-12 weeks before their state deadline. Spots are limited each season, so the sooner you reach out, the better.
